Coenzyme Q10 Supplements

Quality

Coenzyme Q10 is a compound that is naturally occurring in the body. Co Q10 is actually called Ubiquinone – which essentially means "exists everywhere". And it is in every cell in our bodies – it's in other words pretty important :o)…

It is converted into a powerful antioxidant (meaning it fights free radicals that are created in our bodies as a result of pollutants and stress in our environment – ultimately causing disease and aging), which is vital for energy production.

What you should know is that Ubiquinone is Co Q10's original form, but when it is converted into the powerful antioxidant – that is now called Ubiquinol. Ubiquinol is directly responsible for the powerful benefits long associated with CoQ10.

The bottom line here is that if you get Ubiquinone as a supplement, your body still has to convert that to the substance that it actually uses – Ubiquinol. If it doesn't convert it effectively you end up wasting your time and money because you'll see little benefit for your money.

That's why I recommend that when you look for a Co Q10 supplement you look for the bio-available form Ubiquinol.

Preliminary research shows that in some cases you get 70% more absorption of this form of Co Q10 compared to Ubiquinone.

In short – look for the Ubiquinol version of Co Q10 :o)

Quantity

Opinions differ on the appropriate dosage per day depending on who you speak to, so you should consult your doctor if you're at all unsure. In healthy individuals recommendations vary between 30 and 100mg per day.

But depending on your individual needs you may need a higher initial dose for about 2 weeks. Again – please consult your doctor beforehand.
